New here

  • Hi all!

I just found out this past friday that I'm finally pregnant, after 10 months of trying!  woohoo!  I am so excited I think I have been on almost every website on the internet soaking up all the info I can!

I look forward to getting to know you all :)))

  • whohoo,

Congratulations!! Why don't you share a little about yourself...

I am only assuming this is your first? Do you have any names picked out?

  • Welcome, welcome! Congratulations on your news. Being a first-time mom is an adventure that comes with tons of questions and doubts. But being part of a community like this is a great way for you to learn the ropes and know that you're doing a great job.

So, seeing as this is a brand new experience for you, what are you looking forward too most about your pregnancy and being a mom?

  • Welcome and congratulations! You will find plenty of experienced moms here who are more than happy to share their ideas with you. We can't wait to hear all about your pregnancy.

  • Well, my name is Danielle, and my husband, Jason and I have been married for 2 years, 3 in March, but we have been together for 8.  We decided in Feb that we wanted to go ahead and start trying, his sister started the epidemic (lol).  I took my first round of Clomid last month and taadaa!  I actually just got back from my first appt. where I got an awesome free tote bag!!

This is my first, so I have no idea what is going on.  But I have always loved kids, always wanted tohave my own, and always wanted to know what it was like to go through this remarkable experience!

No, no names quite yet... well, I have a lot that I like.. but you know how compromise goes.  lol.  We are working on it.  Lots of surfing on baby name pages.  :)

  • May sound nuts... I cna't wait to get a big ol' belly.  LOL.  I loved my braces, had to have glasses... so I guess I am just weird like that.  :)  And I want to crave something really really weird.

Being a mom?  All of it.  The birth.. the whole experience.  I had a great mom when I was little, and she made me confidant that I could do it to.  I have always been around babies and I love em!!  Even when they cry!  I am sooo excited!!

  • Hello there, I don't think it is weird. I feel the same way. I cannot wait to look pregnant so the whole world will know and understand why I am so moody all the time.  I am ready to give up the morning sickness though.

This is my first child and my husband and I are so excited. We have been keeping my 2 month old niece from time to time over night and it just makes me realize how ready I am to be a mommy and my husband is going to be a great daddy.

Today, I started to feel like I am coming down with a cold and I am so used to taking medicine to kill it so this could be a bit difficult not being able to take medicine. I guess its a good thing I am tired all the time, maybe it will go away with rest.  I have increased my intake of Vitamin C and I haven't felt hungry. Any other suggestions?

Looking forward to getting to know everyone.  Good luck to all.

  • Being pregnant is the only time in a woman's life she's allowed to be round and cranky -- and no one holds it against her! Enjoy it while it lasts!

As for how you're feeling, being that you're in the middle of cold and flu season AND pregnant, it's no surprise you're feeling that way. There are some medications you can take when you're pregnant to fight colds. Talk to your OB about what she recommends for you. Other than that, just listen to what your body is asking for and give it what it needs. With the freedom to be moody and have a big belly also comes the right to rest and take care of yourself.
