I used to live in Virginia and I was pregnant with my first boy during the summer there – it was no joke!! I was SO HOT and it was difficult to keep comfortable. I basically lived in comfy dresses, took showers to cool off before bed at night, and ate way too much ice cream and popsicles! Anyone have tips for those ladies who have to deal with a long hot summer while pregnant? --Julie, Strongmoms facilitator
Freeze several damp washcloths and put them on the back of your neck when you are hot...works wonders!
I would love to hear some tips from people on managing in pregnancy in the summer. I am due August 16th so I have a lot of hot weather I'll have to deal with. It has just started getting up in the high 70's and low 80's.
HYDRATION! Nothing makes you feel worse than being dehydrated...popsicles, cool drinks, ice cream... I agree on the cool wash clothes, maybe a kiddo pool for soaking swollen feet?
