Twin baby names!

  • We are having twin girls and are thinking of naming them Aubrey and Emerson. We may call Emerson, Emmy....or may not if it doesn't fit her.

    Anyway....quick poll on the names:

    A) Love them both! Cute for twins!

    B) Like Aubrey, not Emerson

    C) Like Emerson, not Aubrey

    D) Do not like either name

    Thanks!

  • I really like them both. I like Emmy more than Emerson, only b/c Emerson was a male friend of mine and I associate it with being male. But I think they are really beautiful.

  • I do love them both!  Unique and sophisticated!

  • I think Emerson is interesting for a girl, though I agree with BabyNurse in that I associate it with a man (Ralph Waldo Emerson). Emmy would be a great way to shorten it.

Aubrey makes me think of Audrey (not a fan of), but with a twist. Is it for a boy or girl?

Whichever you choose, know that you'll come up with tons of nicknames and shortened versions. We named our youngest Jordan Elizabeth, and we call her: Jordi, Jordi Beth, Jordelini, Gozer (as in the Destructor from Ghostbusters), buggaboo, little bit, baby girl, etc.

  • Hey! How did it go, have you locked down the names? What did you decide?

  • I love those names....I have always wanted to use names that were unique but not so far out there that everyone would look at me strange.  We just adopted twin girls and named them Canzady and Presley.  Both are family names.  Congratulations on the upcoming birth of your daughters.

  • Great names Doubleblessings! I love Presley -- a cool way to adapt Preston to a girl. I've never heard of Canzady before, though. How would you pronounce that?

  • FIRST OFF, BOTH ARE VERY UNIQUE NAMES..I THINK WITH EMERSON..PEOPLE WILL ASSOCIATED AS BEING IT A MALE NAME..EMMY IS A BEAUTIFUL NAME..BUT, ISN'T IT SHORT FOR EMILY OR EMILIA..AUBREY IS WAY CUTE..EVEN AUDRY..WELL, LET US KNOW WHEN YOU FINALLY DECIDE!

  • D DONT LIKE EITHER MAYBE BECAUSE I AM A TWIN AND WE HAVE MATCHING NAMES AND THOSE SOUND NOTHING ALIKE.  AND EMERSON DOES SEEM LIKE A BOYS NAME BUT WITH EVERY NAME BEING UNISEX NOW THAT DOESNT REALLY MATTER.
