My daughter is six months old and still wakes up pretty much every two hours. She did sleep through the night a few times when she was 3-4 months old but it didn't last. I don't know what I am doing wrong other than wanting my husband to be able to sleep so everytime the baby cried I would pick her up and even feed her. Now she expects it all the time. Any advice on how to break that habit?
We used a modified cry it out that worked well for us. I was unwilling to let my child cry for long periods of time, so we bought a timer and began with short periods of time. The first few nights we let our baby cry 5 minutes before going in an rocking him to sleep. Then we bumped it up to 7, 10, and 15 minutes. Each time doing it for a few days. By 15 minutes (which is really not long to cry), he slept through the night. Really, by going in as soon as he cried, we were preventing him from learning to soothe himself to sleep. This worked very well for us.
I am going through the same situation. My son is 6 months old and still wakes up several times during the night. He has never slept through the night. As an infant, he would sleep in the pack-n-play and wake every 3 hours to feed which I thought was pretty good. However, he is still waking every 3 hours..sometimes to eat and sometimes just to move around. He doesn't seem to like his crib at all. As soon as I lay him in it, he wakes up. I pick him up and he falls to sleep. What am I doing wrong and does anyone have any suggestions on how to get him to sleep in his crib/and eventually sleep all night???
Do you have a baby projector? They project cute characters on the ceiling and entertain your baby if she wakes up she will have something to look at and keep her busy.
i dont know what a baby projector is at all n it sounds like it is different
The one I have is by Homedics, its called a SoundSpaLullaby, it plays music, has rain sounds, and plays the sound of a heartbeat.
