Hey everyone!!!! I have a baby due very soon. It's a boy as the doctors told me. I was just wondering what should I expect. I need advice please. I have had much more experience with baby girls than baby boys. So if you are a mom of a boy or boys can you give me some tips please?
Wow, how exciting to have a new baby on the way! :) Congratulations. I think you will find that you will know just how to care for that baby. In the beginning baby boys and baby girls are just alike-they need love, safety, warmth, food, ect. As he grows, so will your ability to transition between having only cared for girls, and now being ready to take on a boy. I am hoping that other mom's will chime in. Do keep us posted!
Wear a raincoat. HA HA! Our baby boy is just over a month now and he pees on everything. Just when you think it is safe; it's not. Keep his winky covered while you're wiping his bottom and be prepared to go through several outfits a day and diapers. If you don't put the diaper on just right, he'll find a way to pee out of it. I try to push his winky down a little bit too when changing diapers. Just when you think you have been doing well, you'll discover he has peed on your pant leg.
I have 3 boys and they are wonderful! Little boys are so loving and sweet. There's not too much different between caring for a little baby girl and a little baby boy....the biggest difference is when you change their diapers. Go quickly, because little boys can "spray" all over the place! Also, if you are getting your child circumcised, then there is a little bit of care in the beginning. Your doctor should be able to help you with that! Good luck!
Thanks a lot Jess. In a couple weeks my baby will be here and Im excited, nervous, and anxious all at the same time. I will keep you posted
Excited, nervous and anxious-it sounds like you are 100% normal!
Keep us posted,
I have a little boy and he is such a joy! :-) You will love your little boy. Every one is different, so it's hard to give specific advice but every boy needs love and hugs/kisses just like a little girl. MommRN4 gave you some good advice about the slight difference in diaper care. Hope that helps!
