Many parents transition their children from diapers to underpants by using training pants. My husband and I used Pull-Ups for a little while when we were potty training our son. It didn’t take us long to realize that he used them just like a diaper. We switched to cotton underpants and noticed an improvement immediately. Do you use training pants for your toddler?

My son was a difficult potty trainer. We realized the same thing as you did....he used pull ups like a diaper. I switched to underwear with a rubber liner. I also had a friend who used cloth diapers while potty training. I think alot of children need to "feel" wet in order to understand and recognize the sensation associated with having to go to the bathroom.
