my daughter is one and a half month old.  she is having difficulties with sucking bottle nipples.  she would suck too fast or get frustrated.  most feedings resulted in loose milk coming out of the corner of her mouth or her bib would be all wet.  i tried different nipples, different environment, and different position.  still wet bib.  what can i do?  i have an appointment with a therapist to see what is the problem.

I think you are going in the right direction by seeing a professional. At this age, you need to be sure nourishment is being delivered first and foremost.

I agree that you are doing the right thing by seeing a specialist. There are many techniques they can show you to help your baby position his mouth properly. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

It took me a LONG time to find the right nipples when I introduced a bottle to my son.  I literally tried every brand.  I settled on the slow-flow Playtex Ventair nipples and they seem to be fine.  Some nipples have a slightly larger hole than others, so it is kind of trial and error.  Don't be afraid to open the packages and run water through them to find the right size and return what isn't right.  I did!

i had a hard time but in a different way. i breastfeed my daughter untill she was 3 mos.  i couldn't get her to take any nipples what so ever. i had to get those nipples that are flat one side and round on the other. today they are called nuck nipples but back then they were brown. my brother used different types of baby's food s to get her to take it. he succeed with peach dessert and it took one try and that was it. she took the nuck nipples till she turned 3 in September and shes off the bottle now. dont really know if this will help but its  worth a shot. good luck.
