MY 3 MONTH OLD SON WILL NOT NAP IN THE DAY TIME. WHEN HE DO NAP IT MAY BE 2 TO 3 HOURS IN THE EARLY MORNING THEN THE REST OF THE DAY IT'S CAT NAPPING. 20 MINS HERE OR 30 MINS THERE, EVEN 15 MINS. COULD THAT BE BECAUSE HIS BODY IS TRYING TO GET DAY AND NIGHT TOGETHER?. IF SO DO ANYONE HAVE THIS PROBLEM AND DO YOU GUYS HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS ON GETTING HIM TO TAKE BETTER NAPS. BECAUSE MY BABY SITTER IS HAVING A VERY ROUGH TIME.
I always recommend setting a schedule. Try to get him down at 9am for 1-2 hours and again at 1pm for 1-2 hours. Be sure that he has a quiet bedtime routine and goes down early in the evening. An overtired baby has a hard time getting to sleep and staying asleep. Advise her to do the same thing to put him to sleep that you do in the evenings (like rock). She should try to do the same thing at the same time every day. Babies thrive with routines. I hope this helps some. I know some babies are just not nappers, but at 3 months, your baby should be sleeping a lot.
I agree with BabyNurse. Trying to get your baby into a schedule will go a long way toward helping with this issue. Try putting him down to sleep in a dark, quiet room when you want him to nap. When he wants to nod off and cat nap, try to keep him up. This may help in getting his clock set.
