When my son was 2-3 weeks old he was eating 2-3 ounces every 2-3 hours. He is now 7 weeks old and eating 4-5 ounces, but he still wants to eat every 3 hours. Except for at night, he eats at 9 pm and will not wake up again to eat until 5 am. Is eating that much, so often, normal?
Hi JMSMom!!
I have my baby she is 8 weeks now. mine is totally opposite she dont sleep at night but at day time. Well i think... he might wont be getting enough. every baby is different but when it comes to feeding babies must have enough for their growth. At this age babies grow really fast. What i would suggest is not more but atleast wake baby up once in night for feeding. I was concerned too about my babies feeding pattern she was uneven you might have checkes my post. Then i disscused with my doctor. Bottom line is usually babies eat 2-4 times at night. Try that
If your baby is eating and gaining weight it is fine. My second son that i breastfeed ate every hour the first month and second month was like every 2-3 hours also. As long as he is gaining weight he should be fine. You are almost at the age for his next doctors apt. They should be able to show were he is on the percentage scale. All babies are different some eat more often than others.
