In conversation with a good friend in her third trimester, she was explaining how much she detests casual friends, co-workers and even strangers who feel they have the right to stroke her baby bump. Some women don’t mind but I have found many do. What is your opinion and what is a polite way of asking people not to do it if it bothers you? -- Chris, StrongMoms Facilitator
I didn't really mind it. I never had anyone really invade my space, however, when it came to rubbing my belly. When my good friends or family wanted to touch my belly, I felt like they were loving on my little baby and showing how much they cared. I know a lot of women really hate it though. :-)
I kind of agree that it's just people who are excited about the new addition. In the case of my friend, she is a little overweight and has gained a lot during pregnancy so there may be some sensitivity to weight.
