My little boy has never been a great sleeper, but he was improving. Now he seems to have regressed and is back to waking up 2-3x a night. I am ready for a good night's sleep…is it time to sleep train him? -- Bonnie, Strongmoms Facilitator
There is no doubt that sleep deprivation is one of the toughest aspects of parenthood. In your case Bonnie, I know you have had issues with sleep in the past but do you have any explanation as to the reason why he has regressed?
I think more information would be helpful here ..... Why is he waking up? Is he actually falling asleep? Bad dreams? Bored? Worried? I'm interested to know more about what is going on.
My youngest is a really crummy sleeper too, compared to my first. It's hard when you have a good sleeper to begin with!! I do find that if I let him fuss for a bit when I know he is fed, clean, etc. that he will often sleep through the night at that point. He has a very different cry for just waking up tired versus in pain from teething, etc. I still nurse him occasionally...all that to say, I just kind of do what works for that night! Not much help, am I? Hahah - hope you get some answers!!
