MY DAUGHTER IS 5 WEEKS OLD AND I HAVE BEEN BREAST FEEDING. I RECENTLY STARTED PUMPING AND I CAN ONLY GET ABOUT HALF AN ONCE AT THE MOST OUT OF MY LEFT BREAST; ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO INCREASE THE SUPPLY?
After you feed her pump, also nurse on that side first and often. Sometimes babies prefer one side.
Drink plenty of water, eat oatmeal and try to get lots of sleep :)
When your baby is hungriest, try to start her out on that side. This way, she will nurse longer and stronger on that side. Do this for a day or two and see if your milk doesn't pick up a bit more on that side. Also, drink lots of water and let your doctor know if it doesn't get better.
