Top Tips and Checklist at Week One: Preconception

  • If you don't have a doctor for your pregnancy, talk with your family doctor for a recommendation. You also might want to ask family members or friends for references.
  • Schedule a preconception visit to ask questions or discuss any concerns before becoming pregnant.
  • Pay special attention to what you eat and follow a balanced diet if you aren’t already. It's never too early to start eating right!
  • If you need to begin an exercise program, you might want to try walking. It's a great start if you're not active already.
  • Be sure to mark the day your cycle started on your calendar, so you can tell your doctor at your 1st visit. Your doctor will use this to calculate your due date.
