Similac Alimentum Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing product I absolutely love this formula. I just switched my daughter 2 days ago. When she was first born she was on the pro-advance well of course where I live WIC only covers Gerber and it was messing her stomach up bad and she wasn’t able to digest it. I ended up with a fussy baby all day everyday and nothing I could could help her. I finally took a leap of faith and switched her and I won’t go back to anything else. I’ve signed up with the Similac Strong Moms program but it would be awesome to get more samples in the mail of the Alimentum. I’m hoping my WIC will approve her to be switched. Cause the formula is expensive. Wish it was more affordable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing but expensive My now 2 year old daughter starting using this formula at 6 months and it helped her so much, but the price was killer as we were a young couple. We just had a baby boy 2 months ago and I was dead set against using this formula because of how expensive it is. We tried pro-advanced and pro-sensitive. Both were making him throw up, and he was having a lot of trouble pooping. Finally I have in and we switched him to alimentum. He is back to being a happy baby, and eats with no problems. He rarely spits up now and when he does it’s very small amounts and he is able to poop with ease, we usually don’t even know now until we smell it. I do wish it didn’t cost so much but in the end it’s well worth it for my baby’s health and happiness!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Working for our little guy Our little guy has been having tummy issues for a while and we have been going through many formulas to find the right one. After lots of questions and going over his reflux episode. Our doctor recommended a non diary formula. The first one we tried, made his little tummy full of gas and so we moved on to this formula in the ready to feed, powered formula seems to upset his tummy. We notice a change on day two. He was much happier decrease in reflux episode and less spitting up. The only down side is the cost of this formula. It's hard when your on a budget, but well make it work for our little guy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Life Saver My 10 week old baby has had issues with eating since she was about a week old. Her skin would break out, she’d scream all day, and she couldn’t pass gas. Pediatrician recommended soy. Soy made her spit up so much!! It smelled funny and she was still very fussy. I did some research and found alimentum. Wow what a game changer. We noticed a difference right away. Yes, the smell is weird, it’s expensive, and she does pass gas a lot (easy for her to pass tho) but I would take any of those things over a miserable baby any day!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Some cons but it works We are on a military budget and thia product is incredibly expensive even though it is the least expensive out of all the hypoallergenic formula brands i could find. It also smells pretty bad like cheddar or cheez-its to me. My daughter doesnt seem to mind the smell or taste though. Our poor girl has had issues with feeding since she was a week old. Terrible spit up and vomiting as well as gassiness colic fussines and crying. Our pediatrician finally reccomended this to us. One look at the price tag and i was already groaning, but we gave it a try anyways. We bought 1 large can which did not last us entire week. However i saw results instantly. Much less spit up. When she does spit uo its a normal amount and consistency, but she hardly ever spits up at all with this formula. In comparison to barely being able to keep food in her belly before this is great news and saves me a ton of time doing laundry. She seems loads happier as well. She wakes up happy and doesnt cry half as much. However she is actually much gassier even though she passes gas more often she doesnt seem to be having pain from it like she did before. I do occassionally hear her tummy rumble now as well which i never did before but it doesnt seem to bother her. The formula doesnt seem to be as filling which was dissapointing but i may be able to supplement with rice cereal to offset that as she is almost 4 months old now. The price tagis killer though so as soon as we ran out of the first can we tried switching to similac isomil soy. She was NOT having it. Did not seem to care for the taste and spent the entire day spitting up and screaming as well as refusing to eat. Looks like Allimentum it is! But please please if there is a way to make it more affordable please do! This is clearly essential to my daughters well being but its very hard for us to keep up with the cost!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Expensive smells bad and making my baby even more gassy My baby was switched to this for being gassy but was always a happy giggly baby. Now he just screams as he is highly constipated on this formula and is constantly hungry as it does not fill him up so hes eating twice as much as normal. Horrible product. Stay away fro it

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Expensive, smells horrible, bad taste for baby but seems to work! The first time I made this formula I almost gagged at the smell. My baby refused to take it until my doctor suggested I “trick” my little one into eating it by mixing half the old formula and half the Alimentum until he slowly got used to the Alimentum taste. That seemed to work and he is now used to it.
